CALL TO ARMS, CALL TO ARMS:
This is a call to arms to all Airborne Troopers that are now, ever have been or have ever wanted to be a member of an elite Parachute Infantry Regiment. The 505th PIR, 82nd Airborne is currently undergoing a reorganization from the top down and is in need to hear from its current, past and future Airborne Troopers that intend to join her ranks again for D Day 09. We have an immediate need for all levels of soldiers, private through Company Commanders. We welcome every experience level of player.
If you are a current member or think you have what it takes to fill the boots of a 505th Trooper use the contact info listed below and let us know. If you currently hold a leadership position in the Regiment please let us know, we certainly need and want your experience and knowledge. If you think you want to take on a leadership position please be sure to let us know that.
To be a part of the 505th you must be 15 years of age at game time and it is recommended that you be in good physical shape. We are a hard charging unit and seek out the impossible missions that others back away from. We are on the field hours before game time and stay engaged in the battle till the final horn sounds. We cover alot of ground, some of the worst the field has to offer, we cover it quickly, quietly and attack with a vengeance and determination where ever and whenever we find the enemy. The 505th will get the job done!
My name is Bob "Predator' Robinson. I am the Commander. You can contact me at bobamsoil@aol.com or PM me through this forum.
My Executive Officer is William "Ghost61" Robinson. You can contact him at ghost@rrt-paintball.com or PM through this forum.
We look forward to hearing from all the 505th Veterans and those of you who think you have what it takes to become one. Can't wait to sling some paint with each and everyone of you next June.
We will be at Red Dawn if any of you want to meet up with us there. You are all welcome to come by our camp and share our campfire.

As the former Commanding Officer of Omega Company, I would like to invite all of the Omega crew back into the 505th again for '09. If Omega is not to be reactivated, we will have a place for you guys in one of the other companies. We will need Squad Leaders, Platoon Leaders, Company CO's and Company XO's as well as men to follow them. I enjoyed working with you guys and I look forward to it again.
We invite anyone who is up to the challenge of this "Longest Day" to join the 505th and help us make it a great game. A day to remember! This coming year has seen the turn over of command on both the German and Allied sides. Fresh tallent and fresh ideas should make this an interesting year to be part of. It doens't matter if you are a recruit or a seasoned veteran, we have a place for you. The 82nd ABN is a very well organized group to be part of. Join us in the 505th and be part of a historical unit. A unit that was in the thick of it during its entire deployment in Europe during WW2. I promise you that it will be no different for us in '09! We will be in contact with the Germans all day. We hope to hear from you!

(Quote from Steve Risken) Also wanted to congratulate Predator, Ghost and the rest of Robinson Recon for their MVP award at the recent Red Dawn game. Predator leads one of the regiments within the 82nd and of course we expect nothing less. Those guys are amazing! Steve
Thanks to all who came and gave their all for the Free Forces of the United States of America. It was a tough fight and an uphill battle from the get go and just got worse from there. Great fire fights to be sure as there was no shortage of Commie/Cuban targets. We started the game Saturday out numbered and Sunday was even worse. Special thanks to CPT Posey and his gang from the 507th PIR for their support in our role as the Wolverines.
This is just an example of the talent we here in the 82nd Airborne have on our team. The majority of the Wolverines came from within the ranks of the 82nd, most of them from the 505th PIR. If you are looking for a unit that will challenge you to give your best from sunrise (we begin forming regiments around 6:30 am) to the final horn, keep you in the fight all day, provide you with a target rich environment (usually because you are out numbered), take you through the toughest, roughest terrain the field has to offer (on foot of course) from the back of the 210 to the beaches and everywhere in between and still expect you to have the physical reserve to slug it out in the trenches then the 505th PIR might just be the unit you are looking for.
We are currently reorganizing the Regiment from the top down and are in need of just about every leadership position you could want...Company Commanders, XO's, First Sergeants, Platoon Leaders and Platoon Sergeants on down the chain. Think you have what it takes to lead an elite Airborne unit through the rigors of D Day, this is your chance.
Don't want the responsibility of leadership but still want to fight as a member of an elite Airborne Regiment, then this is your lucky day, we have plenty of open positions for those of you who are just looking for the opportunity to send Krauts to the dead zone.
Whatever you choice you can't go wrong with the 82nd Airborne. We would love to have you consider the 505th PIR but for sure keep it in the 82nd Airborne.
Questions? PM or email myself, bobamsoil@aol.com or my XO, William "Ghost" Robinson at Ghost@rrt-paintball.com.

Robinson Recon Team and Forum Guests: We all know the D-day forum is down and a new one is being built. We don't have a time line when it will be back on line or what new shape it may take. In the mean time we have lost a valuable recruiting tool. We need to recruit where ever we can - local fields, stores, friends, relatives, neighbors, schools, ROTC, etc. And there are plenty of forums out there. You will be amazed at how many people have never heard of the D-day game or are barely familar with it. Here's a list we have put together. We need your help getting the word out about the D Day experience and game. Take a few minutes and put out some new posts. Bump up some old posts. Let people know about the game and the unit. Let's generate some excitement! Also remember to plug for the Allies, 82nd ABN, 505th PIR if you will. We have to get our recruiting campaign into full swing, we need to fill the 82nd and our regiment. Robinson Recon and Forum Guests,
The D Day Forum is back up and running for those of you that may care to indulge. There is a recruiting depot thread to post in and please do so but I would encourage everyone that can to continue posting in the above sites as often as you can get there. There is alot of crap still going on on the D Day forum and I encourage everyone to remain distant to entire mess and concentrate our efforts on recruiting and filling our roster for D Day. There have been several resignation of key leaders on the German side which on the surface may seem good but it is not. Key leaders quitting at this point in the prep phase is not good for either side which in the long run is not good for the game. If its not good for the game its not good for the players involved and thats what its all about...the players enjoyment. Sure we all want to be on the winning side but not if its at the expense of losing the overall enjoyment and purpose of the game.
Robinson Recon will continue to play our usual game with honor, honesty and integrity with our highest goal being to have fun above all else.
Happy hunting!

Robinson Recon Team and Forum Guests, OK 82nd AIRBORNE it’s time! This shouldn’t be a complete surprise to anyone, it happens every year, but let’s be sure to get the word out. These dates always come up fast! The first one for “choice of unit” is in a just a week! Let’s get the word out for the 82nd. If everyone posts up on a forum or two we can easily cover 15-20 forums. Same deal for local fields and stores. Let’s get the word out to everyone who has registered and all we know who still needs to register. The post is from Peggy and this is her link. www.ddayadventurepark.com/forums/showthread.php?t=497Hey everybody! Don't forget that our first deadline is coming up. To be able to guarantee your choice of unit, you need to be sure and register before April 1st! If you have certain friends that you want to play with or you want to make sure you get the same unit as last year, be sure and get your spot marked before April 1st! Also, if you want to get in on the contest for 3 cases of FREE PAINT, then you have to get registered before April 15th. Winners will be drawn and announced on the LIVE Streaming Webcast that night! On May 15th, the choice for Allied or German ends and we will need to place you where we need you the most! Army choice ends May 15th! One last note... I will be closing down ALL PRE-registrations on Wednesday, June 3rd. That's the WEDNESDAY BEFORE the week of D-Day begins. That means no more faxes, no more mailings, no more phone calls. I have to shut down the computer and move everything out there, so be sure all entries are in before then or you will have to register at the window and that will cost you $100 on site. PS.... my FAX machine has been a little cranky lately, so please get those waivers filled out and HANG ON TO THEM and bring them with you to D-Day. I've had a few come in that I can't read, so that's a waste! In years past, check-in went much smoother if we already had your waiver entered into the computer. There were too many times that someone would come to the window and insist that they had already faxed it in and assumed that it had made it into the computer. (*enter fax machine ... out of ink... stage left*) When it was proven that I didn't have it, THEN they had to fill out another one and thus ended up holding up the check-in line. I have since decided (since I'm the one there that has to deal with this) that it was just as fast for someone to HAND me a waiver as they were checking in and we check you off in the computer and you get your armband and then you are "good to go" and everyone is happy! So, in conclusion, that's one little thing that has changed! Please feel free to print off the waiver and get it filled out and then pack it in your suitcase! Thank you for your co-operation! There you have it team. If you are planning on attending the big battle there are your deadlines for guaranteed signup. I encourage everyone to make this epic battle that can. It is a sight to behold. You don't have to come all week, all you have to do is sign up now to guarantee unit of choice, get your safety brief sometime during D Day week when it works for your schedule, prior to Saturday morning of course, and be on the field NLT Friday evening to chrono and ready to rock first light Saturday morning. Nothing to it. Look forward to seeing you all there.

Here is a post from "Sweet Pea" regarding unit of choice registration deadline. It was posted Monday, 27 April 09:
I wanted to make sure that everyone saw on the newsletter that the deadline for unit choice is going to be Friday night. I had originally planned on April 1st, but everyone was magically keeping their numbers even, so I didn't want to "pull the plug" any sooner than I had to. At any rate, Friday will have to be where I draw the line. Some of the units are getting close, so we will need to make sure that we stay on top of the numbers so that EVERYONE has a good game.
There you have it straight from the Queen of registration. This Friday 1 May 09 will be the last day you will be guaranteed a slot in the most feared Allied Division on the field...the 82nd AIRBORNE. Wait any longer and you may not end up where you had hoped.
Register now and I can guarantee you and your buddies will fight together in the 505th PIR. We still have limited slots available. PM or email me directly at bobamsoil@aol.com for more information.

505th PIR 82nd Airborne Robinson Recon Team
Well Troopers, its about time to close the 2009 chapter of the incredible paintball event we call D Day. Bruises have just about faded, dug out the last embedded tick, gear cleaned, inventoried and put away (not mine of course, its still in a heap in the garage), After Action Reviews have been sent to higher headquarters. That does not mean the stories, tales, yarns and memories end here, not by any means. For that is what makes this gathering so special. It is about so much more than just a paintball battle between to opposing forces. It is a gathering of friends and family that cannot be equaled nor can it be compared to anything else. It is an event of its own making. Whether you came for the week, fought in the mini scenarios and braved the storms, heat, humidity, ticks, torrential downpours, wind and broiling sun or were just able to make it for the big battle on Saturday we hope you had a great and positive experience and will return to fight with us in 2010. This was by far my best experience at a game at the D Day field to date and it had very little to do with the actual battles. It was the gathering of family, old friends (our extended paintball family), meeting new friends and bringing them into our family circle that made this year's event so special. A special thanks to all of you within that circle for making this year so fantastic for Shutterbug and I. You are all now a part of our extended paintball family and are always welcomed and expected to join our camp anytime.
Many thanks to all of you that came and fought side by side with us in the "Ready Regiment". It was a great battle against a well trained and determined German Command Staff and Army. They came with a plan to win and executed their plan. Congratulations to the German Army on a well fought battle and a much deserved victory.
We hope you all had the experience of a lifetime and will return to fight with us in 2010. But should you choose not to join up with the 505th PIR next year we hope you will continue to come and be a part of the D Day experience, that is the important thing. It is you the players that make this event happen and make it the incredible friend and family event that it is.
Robinson Recon Team will be back as the Command Team of the 505th PIR "Ready Regiment" in 2010 and we hope to see you all join our roster as we begin to build our battle plan for 2010, "The Year of Revenge".

I am so relieved to know that I'm not the only one with a pile of equipment waiting to be stowed! I am working on it a little each weekend.
It was a great experience for Trace and I this year. We learned so much and had more fun than we imagined. RRT certainly is a great team to run with. Thanks to each of you for being so accommodating to a couple of newbies.
We are planning on being back in 2010 as the Able Co. command team and cannot wait to begin preparation for "The Year of Revenge"!
